If this sensor fails when it fails, the ECU will display a P00160 error message. This means that the Crank Shaft is out of line with the Intake Camshaft. However, the error code won't appear on its own without additional information from other sensors (G4 and G40).
Testing is a bit challenging as there are two different connector pins and they perform different functions but the most effective way to test it is by measuring resistance between the sensor and the ECU. If the sensor is operational, it should read about 1000 ohms. Look for signs of coolant, or oil in the connector bay if there are problems with this part.
2. Injectors
Yesterday, while accelerating at full speed from the highway paytoll, I experienced a big cut in power like the engine is out of gas or the injectors are not firing anymore. Today, i pulled out the spark plugs, three were drenched in gazoline, the fourth one was dry. When I start the engine with no sparks, i place a tissue on the top of each hole in the injector and the 3 that were drenched in gazoline jump out but the 4th stay closed. I checked the ground connection on ECU pins 14/55, 30/55 and 48/55. I get zero Ohm. I'm assuming that the issue is elsewhere.
I also tried to reset the PID without success. The Car Key Replacement Audi will start when the G28 is not plugged in and it runs perfectly when it is connected, but still is experiencing intermittent misfires at higher RPM. The temperature sensor for the coolant (G62) shows the wrong temperature of that is -49c even after unplugging it. I also noticed that the oil gauge in the cockpit shows 2 bar but the actual pressure is 0.
I don't know what to do. I believe that I've ruled everything else out. I'm worried that i might have missed something. If anyone has suggestions, please let me know! TIA!
