World of Warcraft - Item Upgrade

The feature of upgrading items allows players to increase the item level for equippable weapons or armor. This increases the power of the equipment, in addition to sometimes adding buffs or rerolling an affix.

It is important to remember that although you can upgrade magic and common equipment, it's usually not worth the cost. Unique and rare equipment will soon surpass upgraded magic and common equipment.

Cost

The player has to spend gold to upgrade an item. The cost to upgrade an item is based on the item's current status and type of upgrade. Upgrades to weapons are generally cheaper than upgrades to armor since weapons have less requirements. The amount of Gold required for upgrading increases as the item is upgraded to an upper level.

A new item will also have improved stats, which can improve its performance in many ways. This could include boosting its attack power or critical strike chance. Additionally, an upgraded item may be able to offer additional buffs for its equipped unit. These upgrades can be used to increase the overall strength of a unit or individual unit, and can have a significant impact on the gameplay.

The maximum upgrade level of an item is determined by the item's tier and its quality.
